Championing Inclusion: Our Partnership with BVLGBT+

Creating a supportive, inclusive veterinary profession is something we care deeply about. That’s why we’re proud to support BVLGBT+, a charity dedicated to empowering LGBT+ individuals across the veterinary community.

Who are BVLGBT+?

BVLGBT+ is working to build a brighter future for LGBT+ professionals in the veterinary industry. While many face challenges around mental health and wellbeing, LGBT+ individuals can experience additional barriers including discrimination, isolation, or lack of representation.

BVLGBT+ exists to change that.

They provide a safe and supportive community, while also working with organisations, employers, and educators to create truly inclusive environments. By partnering with industry bodies such as the BVA and RCVS, they are helping drive meaningful, lasting change across the profession.

Why this matters

Inclusion isn’t just about visibility, it’s about ensuring every individual feels respected, supported, and able to thrive. By supporting BVLGBT+, we’re helping to:

  • Promote equality and diversity within the profession
  • Support mental health and wellbeing
  • Increase visibility of LGBT+ professionals
  • Encourage positive change across the industry

Our colleague Nathan is a strong advocate for this work, regularly attending Pride with his husband and marching alongside the veterinary LGBT+ community. He’s our inspiring reminder of the importance of visibility and allyship.
